TOP 10 PARTY TIPS

1. Party bags are great but most children are happy with a slice of cake and my prizes.

2. Save already blown up balloons till the end of the party to give out to the children as a present. They look pretty on the floor at the start, but will soon all be popped.

3. When hiring a hall or entertainer book early to avoid disappointment. This also gives you plenty of time to sort out the invitations.

4. If your child has a classmate/ friend with a birthday close to your child’s, why not arrange to have joint birthday party. You will then be able to share the cost and stress of putting a party on.

5. Remember to take photos of the cake before you cut it.

6. Remember matches to light the candles.

7. Place a table near the entrance for presents. Open them at home, where you will have the time to write down who each present is from.

8. Keep the food simple. A selection of sandwiches, crisps, fairy cakes and a fruit platter are popular. Find out if any of the children have any allergies etc. Tea and coffee for the parents is always appreciated.

9. Place balloons or bunting outside the venue to show where the party is.

10. If any children are being left alone at the party, remember to get the parent?carers name and mobile number.
